  • Abstract The study focuses on how the cloud computing influences the E-learning industry in Taiwan and if cloud computing changes the E-learning enterprise’s business model. The paper concentrates on two groups which are the companies in E-learning core industry including platform providers, digital content providers and E-learning service corporations and experts and scholars in E-learning area. Subjects were six managers in E-learning associated companies and four experts in E-learning academic circle who made responses through interviews in 2011.
    The result showed that the clouding computing intensified the competition in E-learning industry in Taiwan, reducing entry barriers, enhancing suppliers and customers bargaining power, changing companies’ business model. In addition, the study found that financial factor, security and privacy factor are the most important factors which determined if a company adopts cloud computing.
    According to the result of this study, the paper made some operation analysis, including financial aspects, customer interface, infrastructure management, and future developement. In the end, it proposed some related suggestions on business operating view and government view for industries and government to reference.
