  • Abstract The effects of side slope soil body and nature dam's geometric parameter on the collapsing process of landslide dam is experimentally examined in this study. A“continual flow model of dam collapsing” is proposed to simulate the
    dam collapsing suitably caused by overtopping or pipping. According to experimental results, the peak discharge for 3-D dam collapsing comes earlier than that for 2-D dam collapsing. The talus deposits will transform into stable
    residual slope after side slope inclined stacking soil body collapsing by “the channel bank collasping ”.
