  • Abstract The first part of the thesis is discussing the helical antenna design method. First of all, we will analyze many kinds of materials. Further, we use the helical antenna formula to design the L-band helical antenna with center frequency of 1.52 GHz. Then we will use some equipment to measure the gain, center frequency, bandwidth, pattern and impedance etc. The second part, we will use this antenna to replace the feed on the dish antenna. Then we will measure and analyze the performance in comparison with traditional antenna. Beside our antenna exits better performance and lower cost than traditional antenna.
