  • Abstract In this thesis, we discuss the automatic repeat request (ARQ) technique that combine the Bell Labs layered space time (BLAST) and the space time block codes (STBC) in the MIMO communication system. We also propose a low complexity scheme that gets several test patterns by the Chase algorithm to improve the throughput and corrects partial errors. Compared with the traditional ARQ scheme which has similar or higher undetected error rate, the throughput of our proposed system is increased with the price of slightly increased decoding complexity.
